She stood silently as the torrent began to fall. Watching the mists rise in sharp contrast to the crystal droplets losing the battle with gravity. Quite honestly she couldn't remember the last time she had so loathed the rain.
Delilah Simon was doing something some would deem rather stupid. Not only was she out in the freezing, pelting rain at nearly sunset, but she was standing rather nonchalantly under the infamous Whomping Willow. She sighed. It wasn't that often that she broke the rules, but tonight was an exception. Tonight she'd do anything to be here, and no way in hell was she going to leave. Wondering why? It was nearing the night of the full moon, of course. The frozen (thanks to her clever use of the Immobulous charm) Whomping Willow, being a willow tree, of course, provided next to no shelter from the unforgiving rain pouring down on her. She didn't mind, though she wished it wasn't this night that it decided to fall. Her blonde hair was soaked, draped over her shoulders and dripping down her arms. At first she'd shivered and shuddered at the cold but now she was used to it. Her bright, worried blue eyes were trained straight ahead, on the dark outline of the castle a ways before her. She knew it would only take them another minute or two to arrive. She searched through the mist for Remus Lupin and/or Sirius Black.
Yes, Remus Lupin was a werewolf. And no, she wasn't going to abandon him. She'd been with him once before on this night, but hadn't really seen him or been able to support him at all, because James and Sirius had kept her a good distance away, shutting her out of the passage entirely and making her spend a rather annoying night with Peter Pettigrew by the lake. Tonight would be different. Tonight she would be careful, yes, but tonight she would be there for him. In a way, she was almost relieved that it was tonight, simply because he could spend the next couple of weeks without being ill. But the majority of her loathed the moon, Fenrir Greyback, and all who hated werewolven.
Letting a sigh pass her lips, she gave a slight, involuntary shiver and let her eyes roam around a bit. Where were they? Just as she was about to summon her Owl and send them a letter, she stopped short and squinted a bit. Two dark figures were approaching. Slight fear jumped into her heart and she swallowed, loudly, pushing off the tree a bit. "Moony?" she called hopefully. "Padfoot?" She didn't want to use their real names, of course, in case it turned out to be teachers. She didn't want Remus or Sirius to get into trouble.

It was a cloudy day, gloomy as ever, gray seeming to be the only color that survived. You'd think that Remus would feel better altogether, not being single and solving that whole issue in the Library yesterday. The memory brought a small smile to his face, one of satisfaction and happiness. But that was short lived as the weather seemed to reflect how he felt. Gloomy, horrible in general because today also happened to be a full moon night. Not his favorite day of the month at all, he could already imagine the horrible night in store for him, it always was. What was worse, James had detention and Dell was going to be there. He didn't feel right about it, but he let it.
Meeting Sirius in the hall they headed out into the rain, not even bothering to put the hood of his cloak on, in the end it didn't matter. Under he wore a simple pair of old slacks and a t-shirt. Last thing he wanted was his good clothing ruined, for his good stuff was worn enough as it was. Approaching the Willow, rain dropping on them heavily the mist blocked their general view, not even their breath was seen in this cold, for the darkness was coming upon them. There was a figure standing in front of the frozen tree, interesting, who could that be? Hearing their names, he recognized the voice as Dell's.
"Dell?" Remus said still approaching, few knew their aliases, so it had to be her. She had frozen the tree, good. Peter wasn't going to be there tonight. They came into view of on another, as he could only offer her a small smile. It was growing late, and he didn't have time to dilly-daddle. Once inside he took his cloak off, and handed it off to Sirius to give to Dell, she must have been freezing by the looks of it, he wouldn't need it at that moment anyway. His stomach was nauseous already, always a sign of the pre-phases of this. "You should get to where your safe." he started, keeping his distance from her, as much as he really didn't want to.
"No Peter tonight either, I take it?" he asked, for the blond haired kid wasn't there, wonder where he had run off to. Well James wasn't here, so naturally neither would Peter. Probably off trying to convince the teacher to give him detention instead of James. Funny. Chances were he wouldn't transform for at least another hour, sunset had just started, but it was hard to tell in this weather. For now he leaned against the window sill of a boarded up window, his arms crossed across his chest, anxiety was high in him, mixed emotions made him feel funny and didn't help.

Tonight would mark another night where the marauder's master plan had come into action, the plan that they had all strived so hard to accomplish the end of last year when they finally cracked the questioning code of how to turn into an animigus. At least that's what Sirius, James, and Peter had been up to well Remus had endured the countless nights of transforming during the full moon. But now they could all rest assured that they would be there to help their friend in his time of most need during the full moon.
The day was especially murky and dreary today, the sky had broken open not to long before as Sirius had reached the entrance to the grounds with Remus. Remus could not have been any more down looking today, it seemed as if he were marching to his death because of the events that would occur very soon. Sirius on the other hand was a little bit more cheerful at the prospect of abusing his anigmus form again, but than there was the downside to the whole fiasco - which was that Delilah would be with them tonight in place of James and Peter who had somehow both ended up with detention. Sirius's expression was grim, his usually radiant smile was cut in two, and now seemed to flit between a calm neutral expression to a slight frown. He could only hope that things worked out tonight, seeing as how they had such potential to go wrong tonight.
Rain was pelting them from every direction as they strode across the grounds, Sirius was taking longer strides than usual eager to get to their destination and get this all over and done with. He was dressed in the same black shabby traveling cloak that he always wore with the hood pulled up over his messy black hair [because no one liked the smell of wet dog] and a set of muggle street clothes underneath. It was safe to say that he was getting soaked through despite the precaution of the cloak, he didn't seem to mind, he'd be able to dry off once they got inside. He knew that this was probably no walk in the park for Remus either, he wondered what had made his friend agree to such an absurd idea. But than again knowing Delilah she was persistant and she would probably want to be there to comfort Remus even if he wasn't going to be much of 'himself' during the said time she would be giving the comfort. The whole situation seemed a little bit twisted out of sorts, but seeing as it wasn't really his show to run, Sirius decided to comply. If Remus had deemed it safe enough to let Delilah tag along, than Sirius would have to trust his opinion, besides if anything a small dogfight would occur.
As they grew closer to the whomping willow in the darkness, Sirius could make out a solitary figure sitting beneath the now immobile tree. So, she had figured out how to stop the tree long enough to sit beneath it's branches. A small smile had crossed Sirius's features for a split second at the scene, knowing that most would envy anyone accomplishing such a task because it was often something that the students at Hogwarts dared one another to attempt. Few people every made it back uninjured, that was for sure. Than the sound of Delilah calling out their nicknames filled the gap of silence between them, Sirius allowed Remus to respond, not wanting to say to much for he was in a bit of a serious mood tonight. They soon had entered the battered interior of the shrieking shack and Remus was now handing Sirius his cloak. Sirius accepted the cloak and than held it out for Delilah, hoping that she would accept it as something to perhaps keep her safe. Sirius was now shedding his own cloak to, placing it off into the corner, knowing that he couldn't wear it for much longer now. "Don't worry Mooney, I've got your back, I'll make sure she doesn't get near you." Sirius spoke up, his voice was a bit dim as if he was wary of the danger that Delilah would be encountering soon. He knew that Remus would probably die of grief if he ever bit his girlfriend.
"He's the president of Prongs's fanclub so naturally he has to be there to support him through his hardships, ie: detention." Sirius remarked in a sarcastic tone attempting to lighten the mood although he had a feeling that it would never happen.

"You should get to where your safe."
Delilah followed the two quickly through the passage and into the Shack, making sure to close and lock the door tightly behind her. Letting out a small sigh of relief; both at not being caught and that they all got in on time, she passed a somewhat worried smile in both of their directions. One to Remus, for reassurance, and one to Sirius, for gratitude. She knew that if for some reason Sirius had gotten detention too Remus would've never let her come. And she would've abided by his wishes. Just as she was about to respond, Sirius beat her to it.
"Don't worry Mooney, I've got your back, I'll make sure she doesn't get near you."
Delilah gave him the best smile she could, under the circumstances. "Yes, don't worry, Remus." she reassured in her soft, melodic voice. She seemed almost completely composed, she honestly wasn't scared. What worried her was the pain she knew he'd be in and knowing that she couldn't help. But she contented herself with the fact that at least she was here. That was about all she could do. "I know not to do anything stupid, and Sirius wouldn't let me even if I didn't." she passed a small smile to Sirius before averting bright blue eyes back to Remus. "It'll be alright." she assured, though she hoped that she wouldn't burst into tears when she witnessed the immense pain she kenw he'd soon be suffering.
Accepting the cloak Sirius passed to her from Remus with a smile, she placed it fondly around her shoulders and instantly felt the cold begin to slightly ebb away. "Thank you." she said, to both of them, but mostly to Remus. Wanting to lighten the mood a bit, and restrain herself from running over to her boyfriend and hugging him tightly, she spun around to grabbed up the canvas bag she'd brought with her. Digging through it, she pushed her already semi-dry blonde hair off of her forehead and smiled brightly at the two of them. "I brought snacks." she offered sheepishly, speaking more to Sirius now, seeing as technically she couldn't go up to a werewolf and offer him a pumpkin pastry without risking an arm or a leg or a life or something.
"He's the president of Prongs's fanclub so naturally he has to be there to support him through his hardships, ie: detention."
Offering her friend a grin, Delilah rolled her eyes a bit. "Better in detention with James than trying to amuse me all night." she muttered, taking a seat by her bag and pulling out a few random treats, such as pumpkin pastries. "The joke about the poor witch that was completely 'knuts' isn't even funny the first time, let alnoe the third time, or fifth time, or the seventeenth time." Exaggerating a bit, of course, but Dell distinctly remembered that Peter had told the stupid joke at least three or four times during the night.

Once securely in the shack Remus felt a little better, just now they wouldn't get detention for being out so late. Dumbeldore was nice enough to have lended dear Remus this shack for his transformation, so at least he was in the clear, though any other presence probably wasn't. He managed to smile back as he tried to look through what he could in the window, the fact that it was cloudy left him uneasy. Now he wouldn't even have a warning it would just start to happen.
He nodded, not fully assured but enough to settle him. He stood quite a few feet away, keeping his distance for safety. There would be time for sympathy and all that stuff afterwards, if he was even concsious, last time he had barely stayed awake and then passed out, to wake up in the hospital wing in an immense amount of pain. "Okay, i'm just worried because its just the two of you." Poor Sirius had to handle a werewolf on his own and Delilah had to shelter herself for God knows how long.
He nodded again, the cloak wouldn't be needed for now, though he would rather let her have it in an act of chivalry than have it for himself. He wanted nothing more for this to be over with and to just hold Delilah, but it was too riskey at the moment, a lot of things were and it made him nervous, not that it helped his stomach. Then she pulled out a bag. "I would eat those now if I were you." He said almost nervously, beginning to absent-mindedly chew on his thumbnail. His sense of smell would change in a bit and smelling those wouldn't help him feel better.
"Yea, I agree. Peter is just...Peter. Remind me Padfoot why he's with us again." Remus said still trying to observe through the small crack in the window. Peter seemed so out of place with them, but so did each one of them in their own way.

"I'll be holding someone back, trust me." Sirius tried to reassure them both again with his best grin, but somehow it faltered a little due to the very somber mood that was still passing between them three of them. The rain outside was now pelting the thin wood roof and yellowed window panes of the Shrieking Shack, Sirius was hoping that it wouldn't seize until they left because usually rain meant drowning the noise out a little better than it usually was. Despite the distance of the Shack the amount of noise that was made between him and Mooney on a good night was still largely loud. Sirius usually did a lot of barking and growling to help keep Remus in line - and he in turn also did a lot of snarling and howling. Sirius was sure the noise wouldn't be pleasant for Delilah to hear so he was glad that the rain had the potential of masking it all. Perhaps the drowning out of noise would make things all that much more bearable tonight, but Sirius doubted that it would be entirely pleasant in the first place.
"Don't worry about me, Mooney, you won't be able to hurt me in a few minutes." Sirius reminded him, in dog form, even if he were bitten he didn't run the risk of becoming a werewolf because of the different form of DNA and dog-like traits that he acquired in his anigmus form. "And you don't need to worry about Delilah either, I've got you covered." Sirius promised him, trying to put his friend at ease although he knew it would be an impossible task right about now, since Remus was so focused on the negative of the situaition. Sirius couldn't blame him at all, he didn't really want Dell here either, but he couldn't exactly protest because it wasn't his choice to. The only thing that he could do right now was protect her from Mooney in werewolf form which was the reason why he was here, and of course he was supposed to protect Mooney from himself in werewolf form - he did cause quite a stir.
Sirius smiled a little in Delilah's direction despite the saddened mood when she mentioned that she brought snacks. She was obviously trying to make Remus feel better but the idea struck him as a bit humorous even in this scenario. It wasn't a good idea, Sirius knew, but Remus would probably be comforted by the fact that Delilah had been thinking of them. Before Sirius could protest at the prescence of food, Remus did it for him.
Laughing a little at Delilah's comment about Peter's bad joke, Sirius couldn't help but roll a set of grey eyes at hearing the awful joke pour forth again into conversation. "Prongs needs someone to worship him who lacks the higher intelligence to know the difference." Sirius reminded Remus with a smirk. "And than of course taking in the lesser priviledged makes us look more like marauders." Sirius added making a light play on words with a slight smirk. He was always joking around even in serious situations such as this one, he was practically sitting on the edge of his seat due to the tension in the room. Before the transformation was always the hardest part of the whole transformation being that Remus could turn into his other form at any moment now and Sirius had to be ready to transform with him.

"Okay, i'm just worried because its just the two of you."
"Don't worry about me, Mooney, you won't be able to hurt me in a few minutes. And you don't need to worry about Delilah either, I've got you covered."
Delilah nodded once in agreement, still smiling slightly at Remus. She knew that silently she and Sirius knew they had to both be calm and sure of themselves to put Remus's mind at ease, even though it wouldn't completely. Passing a quick glance to Sirius for reassurance, her bright blue eyes shifted back to her boy friend and her comforting smile remained. But Sirius's words replayed in her head for a moment and her smile faltered. Turning to look at him, a light frown appeared on her face as she looked him over. "What do you mean? There's always a risk he could still hurt you, Sirius, werewolves are dangerous to all humans, just not-" Dell stopped short, something clicking in her mind.
Since her absence from the vicinity last time and the extreme secrecy surrounding the Marauders' animagi, Delilah herself had no idea that Sirius or the other two could turn into animals at will. She'd been shut out entirely before, and never really thought of it before but now her Ravenclaw mind was spinning full blast and questions were running through it. Her eyes narrowed slightly. "There's something you're not telling me." she accused, standing up to her full height and looking Sirius in the eyes. "What is it?"
"I would eat those now if I were you."
Paling slgihtly, Delilah gave herself a mental slap. She realized in that instant how maybe that wasn't the best idea and sighed a bit, under her breath. "Damn..." she muttered, pulling out the other pastry and handing it to Sirius. She knew that Remus wouldn't be able to eat it, with how sick he was feeling but she thought it would be good for her and Sirius at least to help give them energy. Stuffing the pastry into her mouth quickly, chewing and swallowing, she smiled a bit sheepishly at the two. "Sorry." she murmured, averting her eyes, a light blush dusting her cheeks.
"Prongs needs someone to worship him who lacks the higher intelligence to know the difference." Sirius reminded Remus with a smirk. "And than of course taking in the lesser priviledged makes us look more like marauders."
"Right." Delilah chortled and rolled her eyes, leaning back against the wall, looking a bit bored at the mention of Peter. "Says the fearless leader, of course." she joked with a grin; she knew Sirius would know she was joking but take full advantage of her previous statement. He and James were always disputing as to whom was actually the leader. "Don't tell anyone." she said to Remus, as though Sirius couldn't hear. Her smile was wry and joking. "But honestly, I think Sirius and James are just ruses. Peter's actually the ringleader, isn't he?" she chuckled and winked.
