Appearance
Character Representation: Hugh Dancy Hair Description (include color, style, etc.): His hair is darker or lighter than its original tone depending on the light. Obviously when the full moonlight strikes it, it tends to take on a fuzzier and grayer state. But as it stands, his dark locks of hair are often seen falling into his eyes, granting him permission to push it out of his eyes over and over again. They often take a curl here and there and he lets it grow along with his facial hair a bit. Eye Description (color, other description): Most would say that if you look into Remus’ eyes you would see two large bright pools of blue. Though they are darker shade of the moon, his eyes are often caught sending stares or glares at the other bright orb. For when the moon is full, and his eyes full of fear connect with the moon, they tend to remain the same color, a midnight blue, only his pupils grow wide and are full of another being. Physical Appearance (height, build, etc.): At first glance Remus looks like your ordinary seventeen year old guy. He is much taller than he originally looks, but not much, standing at about five feet nine or ten inches tall. Because of being a werewolf all these years the stress of it and physical activity once a month does him well in his build. Well he doesn’t eat all that much in the first place, unless it is a week or so before the full moon, and he is quite thin compared to others his age and height. But it is more of lankiness than anything, with firm and tone muscle creating Remus Lupin’s mysterious build that few see. Predominant Feature(s) (anything really i. e. scars, etc.): On his left shoulder is an outline, a jagged and misshapen outline of where he was bitten as a child. Upon closer examination you could guess it was teeth, but as werewolves are savage animals they cannot tell of the mysterious pattern it has taken. But the scar is a constant reminder and even if he physically looks down and tries to see it fully, it is physically impossible to see it fully without a mirror. Otherwise one feature that stands out is his eyes, midnight pools of blue that are a book into his feelings. Ironic for his eyes are always caught scanning words on a page or staring off into space, hiding what he is really feeling. Clothing (colors, style, etc.): Remus, being the kind of guy he is, does not worry too much for his appearance or what he wears. Usually what is comfortable to him, and as long as it fits it will be found in his wardrobe. Along with his school uniform of white shirts, black dress pants and maroon and gold Gryffindor colored items, he also sports his outside of uniform wardrobe consisting of slacks and nice shirts or jeans and various t-shirts. But overall Remus prefers a comfortable state, not often warranting the school rules in this area to keep his shirt tucked in or his tie done on right.
Mind Set
Sexual Preference: straight General Attitude: Remus’ general attitude is one almost opposite of his companions Sirius Black and James Potter. They tend to bring out different parts of him. Otherwise he is a school-rule abiding student that likes to study and receive excellent remarks on his academics. But his studious nature makes him indifferent on life in most cases. Remus does not see the glass as half full, or half empty for that matter, simply just twice as big as it needs to be. Likes: [+] Books [+] Responsibility [+] Rules [+] Girls [+] His friends [+] His family [+] The day time [+] Swimming [+] Writing [+] Walking [+] Cloudy Weather [+] Some aspects of Quidditch Dislikes: [-] Detention [-] Receiving the punishment [-] Rejection [-] The moon [-] The full moon [-] Whomping Willow [-] Shacks that are internally ripped to shambles [-] Intolerance Abilities: + Reads quite fast + Ability to save Sirius and James’ rear ends when it is needed + Can play a decent chaser in Quidditch + Can ride a broomstick
But no extraordinary abilities that are under his control. Bad Habits: - Mild nail biting - Distancing himself from others - Insomnia from thinking too much - Reading too much and therefore not sleeping - A little overstressed when not needed. History On July seventh Remus John Lupin was brought in the the world by his parents, Adonis and Katarina Lupin. His father was ecstatic to say the least, to have his first born son a male. And as he was to discover much later, a wizard. For Remus was a half-blood, his father was a wizard among many and his mother a muggle, that until meeting his father was unaware of the true existence of magic. Remus grew up an only child, and growing up with Grade school, did not have many close friends. For when he was much younger, his parents weren't the type to send him off to make friends of his own, so Remus stayed at home and often read for fun once he could learn.
But his academic record made up for his seemingly ant-social persona, he was bright child and excelled easily in school. Remus was the highlight of his parent's lives until one fateful day where a single event triggered more. It was late evening and the sun was just setting on the horizon, the sky was painted a mixture of orange and a dark blue, the stars and moon already appearing. Remus was becoming increasingly bored with the lack of activities in his home and he fancied a walk anyway outside near the forest. Well Remus was more acting on instinct and didn't think of the consequences and he dearly regretted it later. For not more than twenty minutes into this walk and near the forest he was bitten by a large animal on four legs, he would discover later a werewolf.
Apparently his father had offended a werewolf by the name of Fenrir Greyback, infamous in his time as a savage. And poor Remus suffered monthly as the full moon crept out and shed light to the life long curse of the werewolf. But had it not been for a man by the name of Albus Dumbledore, Remus might have not been able to attend Hogwarts, but he went and was sorted into the house of Gryffindor, though his father figured Ravenclaw. But nonetheless it was not Slytherin and he was happy. His first year there, a nervous eleven year old Remus Lupin awaited sorting while sitting next to a boy with messy black hair and another lad who was already flirting with the ladies. The former introduced himself and then the other boy joined and followed by a blond mousy boy and there began the friendship of the Marauders.
So year after year went by and by fifth year Remus had achieved a place at Hogwarts, within friends he knew would be there, and it helped him with his insecurity as a werewolf. It was also in this year that to assist Remus in his monthly time, they became able to transfigure into whatever animal they wished too. James a stag, Sirius a black dog and Peter a small rat. It showed Remus that they were indeed loyal ones and it was just touching in that way. Remus feels at home at this school that changes lives and it sure has changed his in ways, he no longer feels the need to distance himself from those who care, though he has the habit of doing it occasionally.

Vince stopped; his hand was on the blandly painted wall in his dorm. The room was spinning and slowly coming in and out of focus. What was going on? Looking around slowly he saw bottles strewn all about the floor, even though is room was relatively clean for once. The clock was spinning when he glanced at it, but he new it was around midnight or very early in the morning at least. From what he remembered Vince had gone out and saw Linda in the alleyway and talked to her and all that fun stuff. But that conversation had left him with a fresh wound in his heart, one that he couldn't exactly explain why it was there. So he'd gone to another club, an underground one that dealt a lot with drugs. He just needed to get the edge off.
So he'd gone there, saw a few familiar faces and shot up and done the blow with the regulars. Somehow he'd gotten home, remnants of heroin on his table along with shiny needles and such, he couldn’t remember. Was he alone? No, he’d come here with a girl he’d picked up, Tori, that’s right. Why he’d picked her, well they were friends, not that well but well enough to sleep together. Something fell out of the hand he’d balanced with, a shiny thin metal thing, a syringe with a needle. He'd just shot up again, not counting how much he'd gotten tonight. Probably more than recommended, but with the alcohol it felt good. In his other hand a bottle of beer was held, he occasionally took a swig and with the vodka nearby he was fine, as he waited for what's her face to get out of the bathroom.
It may have just been him that the time was passing so slow, everything seemed to be slowing down. Maybe the mix of drugs and drinking was bad, but right now he didn't give a damn. He could have very well died and not cared, no problems to worry about. Nothing. Yes, he was drinking in his sorrows basically. Who knew that the simple news of a pregnancy would haunt him like this? And it had broken his heart by breaking his relationship with Linda. God how he loved her but he didn’t want too to save the pain. But it wasn't just that, because Audrie wasn't just some random girl, she was his ex-girlfriend’s best friend. Linda was gone too, he felt alone. A click was heard from the background, the door opened from the bathroom revealing a blond, Tori was finally out. And as he turned to look the room seemed to spin more and then he saw the chick looking at him funny.
"Are you alright?"
The words blurred in his head and then he saw black. Gravity took over and Vince laid on the ground the beer bottle rolling away from his body. That was the last thing he remembered, some screaming and then some frantic talking, some searching in his pocket for something. The last thing that registered in his mind. Was he dying? Possibly, but there was so much to live for, that he just hadn't realized. A child on the way and his heart snapped in two, why would he want to continue, he’d lost something to live for, yea the kid but he just lacked the self-confidence that had been ripped from his grasp by the man he was forced to acknowledge as a father. These thoughts registered in his mind for later use.
Sirens in the background, footsteps pounding loudly. It was almost as if Vince was there but not in his body.
"Hey.....you awake?"
Vince opened his eyes, and almost immediately closed them, but just too slowly open them again. Everything was blurry and white. Where the hell was he? The voice sounded muffled, the one that had just spoken to him and then everything slowly got clearer. It took a second for Vince to really feel like he was somewhere and he couldn’t exactly talk at first. "Where the hell am I?" He said slowly, feeling weak all over and very sick. He had this overwhelming nauseating feeling that just came over him. "Am I dead?" The words came out of his mouth without much thought behind them, and were followed by a nervous chuckle from the mysterious guy. ”How long have I been here?” His voice was sort of weak and he mumbled as his energy allowed him too.
"Haven't seen you in a while and no you’re not dead Vince. You could have died though, and you’ve been here a while, got some people worried about you."
The joke was mixed in with the actual fact. Being on a first name basis with the doctor wasn't always a good thing. But Dr. Reed knew Vince very well, from all the visits that had accumulated over the years. This one being the worst yet. Vince wanted to attempt a weak smile, but couldn't find the energy, not that the situation called for it, what the hell had they done to him?
"We had to pump your stomach and put you in detox and all that stuff, you know, you’ve been through this before, just this one worse than the last. Seems you really outdid yourself this time Vince. And we contacted some people by looking through your cell phone."
Dr. Reed explained, as if Vince really cared. He felt like crap and just wanted to get out of there. Hospitals weren't his favorite place, though he seemed to frequent them more. Tori was not in site no surprise there, he didn't really care. No visitors had come yet, and he didn't care about that either. The fact that he had nearly died was just registering in his mind. And with that his eyes closed again as he drifted off to another sleep. At least until they decided to wake him or a visitor arrived. And judging from the look the doc gave him, he must have looked like hell too. Dark circles around the eyes and everything. Wasn't that fantastic? Just wonderful. The last thing he really wanted to deal with was visitors. |
When darkness turns to light, it ends tonight.
