[x] [x] [Time: 8:05-Date: September 4-Place: Detention Room then Corridor]
You’re late, The detention Professor told a tall, brown haired Gryffindor sternly. She was also partially out of uniform, she had her sweater and skirt on, her shoes were hiking boots and her tie hung loosely.
“Actually, sir, my periods right on time.” Ripley Todd answered with a charming smile; her teeth were straight thanks to the muggle contraption of braces when she was younger. The Professor was not amused and had she not been in detention at that moment, Ripley probably would’ve received another. She looked around, two other students, that was it. With a sigh Ripley swung into a seat and shifted down in her chair, chin propped on her left fist. Her right hand twisted a black puck on the desk in a steady revolving motion.
Why was it she was here again? Dark brown eyes watched the puck drift around. Last time which wasn’t that long ago it was for punching someone, that wasn’t bad. This time… “Dung bomb!” Ripley’s right fist pounded the table.
What?
“Nothin’ sir,” Ripley looked down sheepishly for shouting it out loud. So, that was why she was in detention. Friggin’ waste of time if you asked her. She could’ve been causing more trouble or reading. She enjoyed that and since it seemed the professors preferred the students to die of boredom they had nothing to do while they sat for two hours. Or she could’ve been in the common room with Sirius, James and Remus or up in the dorm with Lily.
Rip let a loud sigh out through her nose, shifting around in her seat, she raised her hand. “Professor, my left ass cheek is numb.” The look she got was enough to make her snicker and stand up to walk around a bit.
You’re difficult, you know that?
“I prefer the term hardheaded.” Rip answered stretching her right arm across her chest. “And restless.” She went back to her desk and sat down, tapping the table. She glanced at the watch on her left hand. It was seven-thirty, and the detention went until nine. She was going to die of boredom. If James and Sirius had been in the detention then she would’ve had entertainment, but no, they were good boys for a change.
Ripley didn’t remember falling asleep, one minute she was staring blankly at the chalkboard the next someone was shaking her awake; it was a Ravenclaw. Slowly Ripley sat up, something was wet on her cheek. Bringing her hand up, she wiped away a clear liquid. “I drooled. Lovely.” She wiped it on her skirt and stood up. “See ya tomorrow.” She promised the professor smirking.
Don't dillydaddle!
Ever since the murders Ripley walked through the halls a little more cautiously. On the third floor she stopped hearing a noise. It was dark in the corridor, and at nine at night students should’ve been in their dorms. She had a detention pass; no chance Filch would have her for that. It moved behind her, Ripley whirled around her dark brown locks slipping from the messy bun. “Hey, whoever the fuck you are stop messin’ around!” Her alto voice held strong, even if her hand was going for her wand.

Today had been just one of those days for Remus. While other students his age and older partied and did the forbidden within the halls he was stuck without any control of himself. No he wasn't at a party, god forbid he didn't do his homework. But it was that lovely time of the month again, at least for him. Thankfully Dumbeldore took some pity on the young werewolf and let him have the day off for the night before was like hell on earth for Remus, just with a full moon. Now it was finally night and he slowly walked the empty corridors of the Castle, heading to the Common Room where he could die in peace.
His stomach hurt and felt uneasy still and his eyes were dull and looked tired. If you looked at him you would say he was hungover or at least ill. The hospital wing couldn't do anything about it, thankfully all the side effects of transforming kept him in shape. He was thin for his height and had a lanky build along with muscles. His uniform shirt was slightly too big again as he wore if comfortable tonight instead of meticulous as it should be. His shirt untucked, his tie loosened and buttons undone at the top. What an example he was setting, had it been a second year he would have told them off for it, but he didn't even have the energy for that.
He walked, his posture not as straight and his hands lost in his pockets. He just wanted to sleep, avoiding eye contact with any window that showed him the moon. Blasted thing. Tortured him until there was no end. It was late but even if he was caught, who would have given him detention? He was Remus Lupin, the brilliant friend of the notorious James Potter. No doubt just a warning was headed to him, but he didn't care right now. As he walked along the third corridor he sense that he wasn't alone. Another lovely side effect, but useful. He turned the corner and saw who accompanied him in this corridor.
"Such language." He replied playfully, seeing his friend Ripley ahead. Of course, detention again, how could he have guessed. Sometimes he wondered if she was the female counterpart of James, they mirrored each other sometimes it was scary. "Let me guess, detention?" Well at least he wouldn't have to walk by himself, that was no fun. Though he wished to avoid any questions from her on the topic of his appearance. Really he didn't feel like lieing to explain his "furry little problem". Becuase as far as he knew, only James, Sirius and Peter knew about it, and they found out by themselves.

Ripley squinted into the dark as the footsteps came closer, thankfully her animagus form left her with certain upsides. She could thought if was Remus, but the figure was hunched over, and not properly dressed, tie loose, shirt hung out, kind of like everyone else at this time of night. To her he looked like hell, but also very cute. She mentally slapped herself for devoloping a crush on one of her good friends.
"Such language."
The playful scolding could have only been Remus. Ripley smiled though her stomach clenched and her heart beat faster. “Oh, c’mon Remus. You’ve heard it before. Though if I’d known it was you, you would’ve gotten a better greeting.” She tucked a strand of brown hair behind her ear. The young witch knew what she would’ve done if there was a mutual liking, hug him, Gods knew that he looked like he needed it some of the time. Like most guys, he just couldn’t see what was right in front of him. Typical.
"Let me guess, detention?"
Ripley nodded proudly, shifting her weight to her left leg. “Uh-huh, and I almost had another one, I was late ‘cause,” Okay, well Rip loved Remus to death as a friend and maybe more, but she didn’t feel it necessary to tell him her period had started. “Well, it’s that time of the month.”
Eh, what the hell. Make things even more awkward. “Not tha-that you’d need to know that or anything, just like a warning for the upcoming classes and such an-and…yeah.”
She scuffed the toe of her black shoes on the cobble flag stone, looking down. He didn’t look to good, looked shitfaced, but she also knew Remus was one to go get drunk with his buddies. She knew they had a secret, the Marauders as everyone called them, but it was for them to tell her. She had a guess, it fit, but she would wait patiently even, though that was hard for an impatient person.
“Heading back to the common room?” She asked lifted her chocolate colored eyes to his blue ones. “Or you wanna cause some trouble?” She grinned playfully at him, with the look of a puppy ready to play tug-o-war. If she hadn’t run into Remus she probably would’ve snuck outside for a run across the grounds.
Get caught then have detentions until the end of the school year, that would've sucked, but for now she was content to escort her weary companion to the common room and jump into bed. "Or maybe we should go to bed..." Ripley squeezed her eyes shut and opened them. "Ya know, you should go to your bed and I should go to my bed. Yeah." Smooth Todders, real smooth, good job.[[Hey, if anyones is horrible it's mine ]]

Chances were he probably would recieve detention at the first site because he wasn't exactly posed in his usual manner. He would have been confused for some other trouble making student who was lingering the halls after hours. But now they were recognizable to one another. He smiled a little, or at least tried, good to know his presence could be taken into consideration. Rip was probably one of the few people that didn't make him all that invisible, or at least not feel like he was. But they were just friends, at least on his end. He generally didn't develop crushes or anything off friendships, well there was one exception but that was a strickly, just look and don't touch situation.
Remus shook his head, why would one wish to serve such a pointless task such as detention. It still had him in wonder because James and Sirius all but lived in the detention room. Or at least serving the Castle in less meaningful and progressive ways. "Right..." Yea, definitely not Remus' area of expertise. Knowing anything about a female was Sirius' thing, not his, such a disadvantage on his end too. Talk about an awkward moment, with those little tidbits of TMI, he just kind of stared at the ground or around letting the moment pass onto a new subject.
So far she hadn't said a word on his appearance. Surely she would have noticed something or commented or giving him a random hug or something. Or she just had come to her own conclusions and was sticking to those instead of using Remus' as a source for her conclusion. Still he wasn't about to tell her the exact reason, he simply didn't want to. Maybe that's why he hesitated in relationships, Remus didn't want to place the burden of his problems in somebody else's minds. And if he didn't tell them, surely they would notice he was gone once a month, as if that wasn't suspicous without a good explanation.
"Yes, actually. Care to acommpany me?" He replied and offered, so that at least Rip had a better chance of just getting a warning in the presence of Remus. He wasn't so much a teacher's pet as he just was an excellent example for students to follow, well most of the time anyway. "Sorry, no trouble for me tonight." He declined her offer, just not feeling his best and if they got caught then his appearance at the moment might be a bit questionable. Still he didn't like passing up a fun moment with a friend.
He nodded in agreement, to the second part. God knew he had many of his own little misinterpreations of what he said in his own words. He wouldn't hold it against her. "I think that works." He replied simply, his tired eyes looking around again, and out a window where there was just clouds. Thank god, the last thing he needed to see was any form of that blasted moon. Damn thing tortured Remus on end with his pure appearance. Sometimes he wondered why his life was so bloody difficult. "So did I miss anything important the last few days?"
Surely Remus' absence this time around had not gone unnoticed. The staff pretended nothing unusual was happening, just another cold or issue that required him to skip classes again. His grades though did not reflect a single absence, so he was good. Still he missed somethings sometimes, just little events he would have been interested in, like James' frequent requests of Lily, or James and Sirius flying into a wall while showing off.

[[Thanks, I like yours much better than mine though :/ Writers thing. *rolls eyes*]] On days like this Ripley had to wonder what kept her in Hogwarts, besides the fact that her mother was in England. If she had never gotten a crush on Remus, maybe, she would’ve gone home, her real home. Was the U.S. even her home anymore? She didn’t know, hell, she didn’t care anymore. She was sick of people thinking that she was the tough girl; she had needs like everyone else. To be loved and to be held. Things like that. What was she left with? A crush on a boy, who didn’t like her back and was clearly hiding something, she wanted to ask, but what if Remus got angry? He didn’t normally, come to think of it she’d never seen him mad, but she had seen the way he looked at Lily.
Rip let out an inaudible sigh, Come on, Todd, just friends nothing more. You’re not good enough, he deserves better. She turned her head towards the window and looked at the cloudy night. She had to act happy, she had to pretend in didn’t hurt to look at him, that she could still be around him and not feel the butterflies. She could do it, she was stronger than this. She had to be. For her own sanity as well as poor Remus’.
“Sorry,” Ripley gave him a brown eyed sheepish glance. “I usually do that to piss of Sirius, with you it just kinda slipped out. Too much information on your friend, kinda thing, right?” She lowered her eyes back down to the ground, a few strands of chestnut hair sliding along her cheek bones, tickling her nose. She pushed them back carelessly. Okay, Todd, happy thoughts. Remus. No not happy. Hockey? Still not working. Chocolate? Hmmm, chocolate. Ripley looked up at Remus and forced a smile.
He didn’t know about her past relationship in her 3rd year, how could he? The only one who really knew was Lily. Both wounded somehow, both mistrusting. She sighed yet again, this time a little louder. “Sorry, tired.” She lied through her teeth. She prayed he didn’t know she liked him. He looked like shit. Swallowing what little dignity and pride she had left Rip, took a step closer and put her arms around his neck give him a quick, gentle hug, before stepping away. “Ya looked like you needed it.” She told him grimly.
"Yes, actually. Care to accompany me?"
“Gonna keep me safe so the big bad teachers don’t get me?” Ripley asked sardonically, she meant it as a joke, but they both knew that Remus was obviously the well behaved one and would never cause trouble as his next statement would say.
"Sorry, no trouble for me tonight."
“Spoilsport,” She teased, her expression however stayed the same. Downcast, with a fake smile in place, the eyes, the windows to the soul showed different. Whether it was hormones, the day or the boy she was with, she didn’t know. All she knew was there was a sudden urge to ball her eyes out. That she would not do. She hated having her friends think she was tough; truth was she never let them see her cry. Not once in six years and it wasn’t about to start because of Remus.
"I think that works."
“Well, you sure as hell look like you need to sleep,” Ripley cast a glance over him, hiding her worry pretty damn well. “Too many midnight romps?” In the six years she’d known Remus it was enough to gather several hypotheses of what went on in his group of friends. And to be honest if the one where she thought he was a werewolf was true, then she would help him, it didn’t bother her, things like that in Rip’s mind were trivial. Now, if he killed massive amounts of people and so on and so forth then there’d have been a problem. She only wished that he trusted her enough to tell the truth. She was sick of all the lies, from friends, and from family.
"So did I miss anything important the last few days?"
Ripley tried to put a cheerful smile and hopeful she had succeeded, shrugged her right shoulder. “Well, Sirius and James of course landed a detention, I don’t know for what though. I got thrown out of class for telling a Slytherin to blow me, and Lily has been ranting and raving about James again, which to me translates to her liking him.” Ripley paused for a moment, her brown eyes stinging with sudden tears at something she’d heard once. “When you love someone you can tell, but when you’re in love with someone everyone else can tell—do you think she likes him back? In your point of view.” Ripley began walking tugging gently on Remus’ sleeve to come with her. ”I’ll put ya to bed, how about that? I won’t set foot in that room, ‘cause lord knows who Sirius is with or what he’s doing.” It wasn’t so much motherly as it was a concerned friend.

Hogwarts it was basically one of two homes for Remus, the other of course being the one with his family, but he didn't even feel comfortable there anymore. Just his condition and the new person he felt he was because of the Magic in his life. Yea his father was a wizard, but it wasn't the same, at least not until you experience it yourself. Sure he had friends here and all, but he still felt alone, that loneliness from a lack of something more than a friendship. He harbored the feelings but no possible action toward them. It almost made him internally sigh.
Yea, he had a small crush on Lily. There were so many things about her that made her so likable. She was smart and beautiful and didn't go around randomly pranking people. But she was meant for James and he didn't want to interfere in an area he knew he couldn't. Just look and don't touch. He felt like being his age was a curse now because he certainly didn't know what he was doing.
"Well Sirius likes to give you too much information most times but he hates it in return" Sirius had a very outgoing personality and it made him talk almost as much as James did. Not that it was a problem, just something that stood out. It was cool, she was friends with the Marauders like Lily was, only they weren't chasing after her all the time. Remus couldn't exactly see why, she was date-able, but he himself didn't feel that extra connection there with her. Just friends in his mind.
Remus hadn't really had a real relationship while he was here, just your regular crushes on pretty girls that didn't mean anything. And then the memorable ones where nothing happened. He remembered his first kiss back in second year, but that hadn't amounted to anything. He only wished he was more assertive in that area and not so mysterious or seemingly unwilling. Sometimes he wished he was different, just everything from his problems and complications to just the way he was around people. Out of nowhere she gave him a random hug, it felt nice to know that somebody cared at least a little. Usually the only person to receive hugs was from Lily.
"Of course, wouldn't want you in detention again." He replied. Having Remus usually meant that the teachers were extremely reluctant to give out detention like normal. Unless they witnessed him in the act of something extremely within range of breaking the rules. Remus just smiled back at her tease. He couldn't help it if he didn't want to be at trouble-maker tonight. But right now he wouldn't have minded going back alone. It was after hours and he needed some time to think, he wasn't even sure if it was safe for him to be out right now. Because on rare occasion the cycle was extended a day.
And it scared him every single time because he could hurt somebody, or levee his curse upon them. Her question on possible midnight activities almost made him blush. No he wasn't like that, what Sirius did all the time forcing him to sleep in class instead of when he was supposed to. "Of course. You know me." He was obviously being sarcastic about it, but why not bring some humor. Ripley knew he wasn't like that, nowhere near close.
He just listened to the few news of the when he was gone, he liked asking her because James or Sirius made up events in order to compliment their egos. "Those two are going to end up married one day." He said just a point out loud. Her statement was of the insightful type, something to make you think. "I think she does, but isn't ready to admit it to herself yet." Remus could relate, admitting things and true facts were hard, it had taken him the longest time to deal with being a Werewolf, now he knew what he was, just getting other people to accept it.
"Okay, I doubt he's there though, probably finding a new purpose for the empty classrooms or the kitchens." He explained.

Just friends, that was all, nothing more nothing less. It was time Ripley realized that and though the truth hurt it was better than holding onto something that wasn't there. She wished Sirius had a bottle of Fire Whiskey, Rip never drank, but for the first time in a long time, she felt like she could crawl under her bed and lay there until the end of the year.
Lily was lucky. Rip walked in silence, letting Remus and herself ponder. She had James who was head over heels, but most of all she had Remus' affection and trust. More so then she did. It was a same a heart couldn't really break, because she could've sworn something inside of her cracked, just by being with him, but not with him.
"We've all learned that," Ripley said softly. "Not bad at advice giving depending on the day." She thought back to Hogsmead and the Black's advice on what to do about Remus, now however looking at him, this wasn't the time. It would never be the time. Not in this life, not in the next. She was meant to be alone. A lone wolf.
Relationships were meant to be broken, hearts made for healing and words meant to wound emotionally. For Ripley relationships meant bad news. She had no fairytale ending like all those stories she read as a child she was no Belle falling for a beast, she was no Repunzal throwing her hair down for some guy, she wasn't Cinderella losing a glass slipper. She was Ripley Todd, a witch and probably going to turn into an old hag.
"But I like detentions they pass the time." She replied. Pass the time I'd spend wishing to be your girl. She wanted to added bitterly. But having Remus around was always nice, crush or no. He understood most things--just not her. "You okay?" She looked at him, he looked worried or uneased.
Ripley tucked her hands under her arms, folding them, almost hugging herself, lord knows she'd need a hug from someone. "Yes. Because that is what you'd do." She fired back just as sarcastic. "I meant something else, get your mind outta the gutter." Maybe if Remus was like that she would've been dating him and then dumped on her ass, she didn't which one she preferred holding onto something that wasn't there, or being dumped on her ass.
Ripley sighed softly at the mention of Sirius and James getting married. "Well, as long as I'm the Matron of Honor, I'll wear a dress and wish them the best of luck." She smiled at the idea of James or Sirius in a dress.
"She's got enough people pointing it out, I think James just has to smarten up a bit, get a boot in the ass and take a good look." Rip's statment could've meant Remus as well, but it was aimed at James, though if Remus took it the other way, she sighed again, if he did maybe then he'd know that she was there, if he needed a hug, a soul to listen, she could at least do that.
"Well, in that case I'll tuck you in." She smiled at him. "Just so I know you actually go to sleep." Worried. That was it. Worried, Ripley was worried about Remus, it was clear now. Hell, he looked worried.

Remus wasn't feeling much at the moment, at least emotionally, he was too tired and in too much physical pain to pay attention to it. His body ached from the full moon, and his stomach was in tangles from anxiety. Just had to be this night didn't it? But he didn't show any sign that he was in pain though the worry was in his eyes no doubt. He didn't want Ripley to worry, the last thing he needed was to explain his condition at the moment, why he looked so worn out and defeated. God how he hated being defeated by something so demeaning.
There was a small bout of silence and for a while Remus didn't notice, caught in his own thoughts. He hoped that Sirius and James were in the dorms, in case he got some symptoms. It happened on occasion where he would feel like he was transforming, but maybe just a little and end up scratching up himself badly. It was certainly plausible, but he didn't want to make a scene about it or endanger anybody.
"True. Though his form of advice is interference half the time." From experience Remus knew that Sirius would play matchmaker all the time, it was amusing unless you were the subject. Really he didn't want intervention by Sirius of all people, it didn't work when their social habits were quite different.
Remus didn't catch her detention comment, spacing out again, lack of sleep and the like. He honestly felt like shit and new cuts and bruises taunted him with every movement. "Hmm...? Yea, i'm fine. Just tired, thats all." If there was one thing Remus didn't have a hard time doing it was lying, though he didn't do it on purpose, sometimes there was just a dire need for it. Especially on the subject coming anywhere near his lycanthropy.
He just smiled almost at the thought of he ever being like Sirius, midnights with somebody new every night. Commitments rare and just a general happy and outgoing demeanor. Sure he had his own problems, but nothing like Remus, he felt like the world was against him during the few days of the month like this. He looked around again, just because and then to Ripley. They had been friends a long time now, he trusted her, but not with his secret, he wouldn't tell a soul, but then again neither would she. Over and over again had he argued on telling certain people of his condition, in the end it was always no.
This time he smiled more at the thought of his two best friends married. Quite humorous in many ways, but he really figured it was just a metaphor for their long-standing friendship. Sirius all but lived with James, his family issues causing a multitude of difficulties. But he could see Lily and James happy one day, and Remus would be happy for them as well.
"James needs to deflate his ego or he might fly away." Remus had no problem commenting on James' ego, everybody knew he had one and a large one at that, but Remus knew from first hand experience how his friend could act. And he also knew that Lily needed some maturity from him if anything was to work. But he didn't understand what she meant by "take a good look" he was obviously looking, unless she was implying something else.
His smile was soft this time, if she wasn't here he'd probably fall asleep on a lone stair. He hadn't exactly been to the common room in a couple of days, he all but had a separate wardrobe in the Shrieking Shack because the ones he arrived in didn't last very long. But even these had grown a bit too big. "Thanks." He said gratefully, she helped him out so much he felt that he owed her a lot sometimes.

[[well you posted it like 3 something in the morning. It was good! Next time you say it's crap I'll kick your ass ]]
Ripley went quiet, it was something Remus obviously needed and since she wasn't one to push...well, with Remus at least she was all the more happy to space off and think good things. Somewhere a clock struck ten. "Oh, we're not in bed, tisk, tisk." She whispered with a grin and a roll of her brown eyes.
Ripley unfolded her arms and would've put her hands in her pockets if a skirt had those magical little things. She settled with having them dangle at her side, brushing with Remus' from time to time on accident, which would have her move away from him, by just a little bit.
"I dunno, the advice he gave me the second time around was nice, the second thing," Rip shook her head with a small smile, she didn't think snogging Sirius would get Remus to like her. "Well, let's just say I wouldn't do it, in a million years."
Just tired? Ripley looked at Remus in the dark corridor, with what little of the animagus she had in her she could make out bruises and scartches. Tired, my ass. You're in pain Remus, why won't you just tell me? "I don't blame you for being tired." Ripley wasn't about to scream at Remus and tell him to give her the truth. Although, if her assumption was right she could follow the guys next time around. They began the three staircase climb towards the Gryffindor room. She kept near Remus just in case his legs gave way or he fell. The list went on in Ripley's mind keeping her preoccupied.
When Remus spoke she kind of jerked in response at the sudden volume in the quiet. Her heart went back to it's normal rate. She was jumpy since the bodies had been found, loud noises in dead quiet just bugged her, unless it was Rip who was making the noise. "James needs to deflate other things along with it," Ripley drawled sarcastically. She walked close enough to Remus as they climbed the last set of stairs just in case he fell or something along those lines. To say she was worried, that was a bit of an understatement, screaming on the inside from aniexty worked.
"Anytime, Remus," Ripley smiled over at him saying the password for the pinklady. "Anytime." The second time she said it it was more of a whisper. Remus should've known Ripley would help him at any point in time, for nearly anything. [[Now mine is crap]]

[[lol. yea i've been really tired lately. this is probably gonna be a little off because i'm distracted. :] ]]
Remus heard the clock signaling ten, the curfew time. At this hour the caretaker, and any other leadership bearer wandered the halls in search of students like themselves who were out of bed and out of place. Contrary to belief, the large amount of house points were lost during times like this, so when a student lost a whole bunch during class, it didn't make a difference. "God forbid were out past curfew." Remus replied just as sarcastically. It didn't matter to him sometimes.
Remus normally would have become curious at her statement, wondering what the subject of the advice giving was to. Sure he was curious now, but not as much. "Sirius actually gave good advice?" he said, not to be mean, but Sirius was more the jokester type like James about advice. "Care to share?" He asked, not caring whether she wanted to or not, her choice.
"Why do you say that?" He wondered, as if she had any idea what he went through. Nobody did, and he wasn't too fond of people who thought the knew everything. Because unless they were in his shoes, they most certainly did not. The stairs taunted him, but he was fine, not fazing to any small amount of pain he felt.
On the subject of James, Remus had deducted that if James was a little more mature around Lily or anybody for that matter, acting like a decent human being and not picking on certain Slytherins such as Snape, then he might have a chance. But old habits die hard, especially in this case. Nothing Remus could there to help his friend, behavior was a solid thing and hard to change. But he didn't even stop the torture of Snape, so he couldn't really say anything.
They arrived, finally, at the tower, the portrait opened and inside was the homey and comfortable atmosphere of the common room. The fire warmed the air, and the room was basically empty. Good, he figured as they both entered further, Remus took a seat in the comfortable chair. Felt like heaven, but it always did after he came in late like this, though he was usually alone. "I think i'll sit here a while. You can go to bed if you want. Thanks again." he said from his position. Just wanting some time to think and whatnot.

Ripley yawned widely as they walked, she was tired from the day of classes, pranks and even the detention though she had slept a little in there. She remained quiet at Remus’ sarcasm only giving a small snort of laughter. “Sirius can give decent advice,” Ripley fired back with a smile. At his question if she cared to share, Ripley felt her cheeks burn in embarrassment. “Uh, no, pretty sure you’ll find out sooner or later.” She was sure it was obvious of her crush, sadly. "You look like you were puking your guts out, or you broke a fever." She fibbed, how was she supposed to tell him that she thought he was a Werewolf, talk about an awkward conversation. Ripley hated the stairs for five reasons, how high they went, she wasn’t a fan of heights, they moved, goddamn things, there were a lot to get up to the dormitory, she pondered for a moment, well, maybe only three things. She wished more than anything for her two friends to get together, James if he ever matured would make Lily happy and Lily would make James even happier, add a little order into his life, maybe stop some of the pranks on Snape, though she was sure he deserved some of them. Ripley followed him inside the common room, it was nice and warm in there, she rolled her sleeves up pausing to warm her legs up by the fire whilst Remus took a seat. She tucked a chuck of brown hair back into the messy bun she had. “You sure?” She asked. “I said I’d tuck you in,” With a teasing smile she took a blanket off the couch. She put the maroon and gold blanket over him. "Since I assume you'll be down here awhile," Ripley whispered. Straighteing her back she looked around the empty common room and was sure that what she was about to do would come back and bite her in the ass one of these days. Leaning across the arm of the chair she pressed a kiss to Remus' cheek. "Night." She mummured. And took off for the stairs. Ripley's walk for the most part was composed, but once on the stairs it turned into a run, she was stupid, she was nuts, she was not leaving her dorm for the rest of the fuckin' year. Stupid, stupid, you stupid idiot, do you know what you've done? Her mind screamed at her. Getting her tee-shirt and boxers she changed quickly, sliding into bed, the sheets cold on her burning skin. With a sigh she put her arm around her ratty stuffed dog Remus had given her in thier third year for Christmas. "So screwed." She whispered into the darkness.
