"Are you daft?! Do you honestly think I would do that to you if I knew?! I thought you knew me, Ripleyamadeus. I've repeated myself a million gazilllion times; I had no idea. AND!" she continued, holding up one hand to silence any possible protect. "AND we were drunk. Both of us. Hammered, wasted, completely out the wazoo. You can yell at me, say mean things to me because I understand you need to get it off your chest, but you will never, ever suggest that if I had known and been sober I would have betrayed you like that."
Ripley winced at the use of her first name, but a small proud smile came onto her face as Delilah completely opened up on her and just went ripshit. ”Yeah, I am daft, along with stubborn. I think love has a mind of it’s own, especially after your whole spew about how it’s beautiful and awesome and running through a field of daisies. How would you have known I was gonna tell you the night you guys went off drinking.”
"Ripley..."
“No,” She didn’t even know what Dell was going to say. “I’m not shutting up this time. Stop for a moment, everyone stop. Remus look at Dell, Dell look at Remus. See what you two have?” She took a moment to fight back the tears she wanted to shed. “See what you and I could never have Remus. You’re meant for her. I realize that now. There’s someone for everyone, I’ll find my prince Charming somewhere else.”
"I didn't lie to you Ripley, I did need time to figure this whole thing out."
“And you obviously did!” Ripley shouted back. “GO with Dell! I don’t need to say it again. I have no issue with it! Okay?” A flicker of anger lapped its way into her words. “I don’t care, okay? You’ve hurt me yes, but it was my fault for playing around with fire. I give, I surrender, take me out coach there’s nothing left. Outta gas. Get it?”
She began walking towards the castle, again Remus spoke. A level of annoyance in his voice.
"Would you stop it. Look at yourself. All you bloody do is blame everything on yourself or other people, acting like a victim to any bad thing that has ever happened to you. Why don't you get with the picture and realize that your not the only one who suffers from life."
"Dammit Remus I know there are people with worse problems then what I have, but someone them won't accept help! So, I won't either. Don't tell me what the fuck I know about suffering, yeah you have it ten times worse I know that." Ripley countered. "You don't know shit about me anymore Remus, you never cared for me more than a friend, so, why would you know the other side? Just back the fuck off, okay?" Never had Ripley spoken so harshly to any of her friends, espically Remus.
“Oh yes, and because it is my fault!”Ripley yelled angrily whipping around, a fire in her eyes. “Do you think my father would’ve died if we had been in England before then? I asked for one more year to go back to the U.S. just one, and in that time he was killed. Do you think my mother would even think of remarrying if I hadn’t pushed her away and do you think for one second if I had spilt my guts out to you that you and Dell would already be together? It is my fault! Face it!”

See what you to have? See what you and I could never have Remus. You’re meant for her. I realize that now. There’s someone for everyone, I’ll find my prince Charming somewhere else.”
Delilah's jaw dropped slightly and, obediently, she cast a worried glance toward Remus. Her heart leapt and hurriedly she looked away to conceal it. A light blush tinted her cheeks but hopefully the others wouldn't notice in the semi-darkness. "Ripley, I-"
"I didn't lie to you Ripley, I did need time to figure this whole thing out." And you obviously did! GO with Dell! I don’t need to say it again. I have no issue with it! Okay? I don’t care, okay? You’ve hurt me yes, but it was my fault for playing around with fire. I give, I surrender, take me out coach there’s nothing left. Outta gas. Get it?”
Delilah's legs, which had since been frozen, suddenly became warm and usable again. "Ripley, no!" she called, taking a few steps after her friend but stopped short, so that she was next to Remus when the two began arguing again.
"Would you stop it. Look at yourself. All you bloody do is blame everything on yourself or other people, acting like a victim to any bad thing that has ever happened to you. Why don't you get with the picture and realize that your not the only one who suffers from life."

Delilah couldn't help it. She felt the stupid, familiar burning sensation behind her eyes, and her lower lip quivering. She hated what she had considered to be beautiful, even though it was on a whim, to be so horrible and hurt so many people. Feeling like a total complete jerk, Dell promptly burst into tears. This time, it wasn't small, hidden tears or a few at a time, glistening on ehr cheeks, no. Instead it was large, hiccuping sobs that shook her small frame entirely, her breath coming in huge, hiccuping gasps that nearly made her lightheaded.
"P-please stop fighting." she begged through her crying. "I'm s-sorry I hurt you R-Ripley, and I'm sorry that I r-ruined everything, Remus." she gasped, lifting her hands to cover her face. "I'm s-so, so, s-s-sorry!"

This argument had an intersting direction. It was mainly Remus and Ripley arguing and then Dell arguing with Ripley, it was as if Dell and Remus were on the same side fighting against her, maybe it was in a sense. Remus only looked at Dell to see if she was alright, at the same moment she glanced at him. What was she getting at? She was acting like they actually tried it, but they hadn't on his account and he was glad because he didn't want to hurt her on such a grand scale like that. If Ripley saw something between them, then there must have been, unless she was pushing him away in an effort to win him over.
"Fine..." he said in a mumbled, taking a step back. She wanted to leave then let her, though he knew that if she left the future wouldn't be the same. Talking and joking with her would never be the same anymore, maybe he didn't know her anymore, it didn't seem to matter anyway. Still her words couldn't help but sting a little, a lot seemed to be getting lost now.
Even if she hadn't told him what she felt, and he had ended up with Dell it was have taken place a lot slower and probably in the end be more painful for Ripley. But you couldn't turn back down that road to change the outcome of something, you just couldn't or Remus would have used that power long ago himself. Before any of this. Then out of the background he heard a voice, and crying. Dell was crying and apologizing as if it was only her fault. But it wasn't, they had all played a part in this.
She didn't ruin anything, only made him realize what he really felt. And he would have told her but Ripley was still standing right there, so for now he just remained speechless as the only thing he could think of doing.

Saying nothing Ripley moved over to Dell and hugged her best friend tightly. ”He’s yours kiddo,” She whispered in her friends ear. ”Make it happen.” She winked a brown eye at Dell as if it didn’t hurt her to see Remus with Delilah. Planning to go past Remus she stopped and threw her arms around his next. ”I’m sorry,” She whispered softly. Kissing his cheek with gentleness she didn’t know she could possess. ”Give her everything I couldn’t have from you. You love her, she loves you….fill in the blanks, Rem.” She pulled away from him and tried to smile, the most she could get was a slightly upturned corner.
With that she walked away. What more could be done, what more could be said? Nothing. Ripley Todd was done. Ten yards away she stopped only once and thought of looking back, but decided it was best to keep on going. Something inside of her felt warm, and stable, the same feeling she got when she was on the ice and with a growing smile as she left the forest she realized she’d done the right thing. Nothing would ever be the same between her and Remus. They’d probably rebuild their relationship and make it stronger.
Ripley looked towards the castle, her heart feeling light, her head reeling and her throat raw from yelling. Her knuckles still hurt, and yeah she was feeling a tad depressed about losing what she never had, but as she climbed those stairs to the castle she realized with a sense of achievement that this was her home and this was where she was meant to be.
Detention Miss Todd McGonagall’s voice hit her hard. Yup, it was home.

”He’s yours kiddo, Make it happen. I’m sorry, Give her everything I couldn’t have from you. You love her, she loves you….fill in the blanks, Rem.”
Delilah stopped crying the instant Ripley's arms were around her. Blinking in surprise, she hugged her friend back, relief flooding her chest."Rip..." she started, but that stupid lump had returned and was constricting in her throat and she couldn't speak anymore.
Watching Ripley retreat, until she was out of sight, Delilah's bright blue eyes shifted to Remus. "I'm sorry." she murmured softly, feeling all cried out. Only the remnants of tears past glistened in her eyes now. She felt a bit lightheaded and out of body. Sitting down on the boulder Ripley had been on before, she lowered her head into her hands and sighed. "So, so, sorry, Remus."

Ripley retreated to Dell and instead of doing the worse she just gave her a hug, saying something that he didn't quite get. Then she came up to him and instead of fear of some violent act coming from her, she all but jumped on him with a hug, "Give her everything I couldn’t have from you. You love her, she loves you….fill in the blanks, Rem." She whispered in his ear and he briefly hugged her back. "I'm sorry.." He apologized to her, for what she had gone through for him.
As Dell started to apologize again he walked over to her, where she sat on the boulder and sat on the space next to her. The boulder was quite big, reminded him of the one that James sat on like a throne when they were planning their next prank. "It's alright. None of this is your fault, it's just Ripley being Ripley and me being an idiot." He said placing an arm around her in a comforting manner. Maybe she was right, that there was something with him and Dell.

"It's alright. None of this is your fault, it's just Ripley being Ripley and me being an idiot."
The tension flew out of her in the instant that his arm wrapped around her. It staved off the cold; both inner and outer. She hated how sad Ripley's eyes were, and how Dell herself had only seemed to mess things up. She kenw Remus hadn't wanted to hurt Ripley; he'd only wanted to preserve her feelings and keep from hurting her.
"You're not an idiot." she mumbled, scooting a bit closer and leaning on him a bit more, feeling safe with him. He was stronger than he seemed. Letting a deep sigh pass her lips, she frowned a bit. "Do you regret it?" she asked softly, after a moment of companionable silence. She knew he'd know what she meant.

Suprisingly Remus didn't feel all that bad. Still restless because of the late hour and not that tired actually. But seeing Ripley walk off hurt like that made him guilty, only to himself though, for not telling her sooner. In a sense they all had some part of blame in this whole mess.
At least he had Delilah here to help him feel better. He still thought he was because he was dumb and just waved around the possibility of handing over his heart to her. "No..." He didn't hold any regret at that moment. No regret for saying no to Ripley, no regret for his choice at all.

"No..."
The honesty was evident in his voice and it soothed her, yet she wanted to make sure that he knew everything she was talking about. "Not just that..." she murmured, shifting slightly so that her chin was on his shoulder and she could look up at him. It was an odd angle to view from, but she figured it might make her look like a big confused puppy or something and she at least wanted him to smile. The amused sparkle in her bright blue eyes faded a bit, leaving a somewhat serious look floating in them. "I mean, do you regret what happened... with you and I?"
She knew to some degree she did; but only certain aspects about it. She regretted that it hurt Ripley, and she regretted that she couldn't remember some of it because of the alcohol. But she didn't regret that it was Remus, no not at all. She'd thought it was beautiful, what they had shared, and only hoped he felt the same way.
(( So this is before the Library thread, then, right? ))

[[yea. okay. ]]
The past month's events, feelings and emotions just passed right through his brain. It was all very interesting and a new experience for him, never had this happened before. It was nice because it was like growing up in a sense, rather than digressing into his usual self where he just didn't speak that much. No. It was nice, and he wondered how many times this had happend to James or Sirius. Now he could tell them that Peter was in fact the only one not to have any action from the four of them. They would be shocked and he fully expected that.
"No. Though I feel a little bad about Ripley." He admitted, it wasn't that big of a setback, nor was it that he couldn't remember that night. But in the end good came out of it.

"No. Though I feel a little bad about Ripley."
Delilah nodded and sat back just a bit so that she could see him better. "I feel the same way." she admitted truthfully, her expression mixed, as were her feelings. On one level, she was happy with what had happened, but on another she hated hurting her friend. Giving a small sigh, she decided to just stop thinking about it for a while and worry about something else. Like how bad Remus' insomnia must've gotten if he was out at this hour.
Frowning lightly, she observed him for a moment, noticing that he seemed to be a bit paler than he usually was. "I wish you could sleep more." she said softly, not necessarily pitying him, per say, but simply wishing she could help and hating Fenrir Greyback for doing this to him.

The corner of Remus' mouth upturned, as if forming a small grin, but not fully. At least it didn't put a rift between them, what happned. Usually that occured and ruined many things, made it regretful and all those things. Too bad Ripley was caught in it, but she still hadn't grasped the part that they hadn't volunteered to get wasted and end up sleeping together.
Before he could get lost in his thoughts again, she commented on something. Remus just shrugged, not his choice really. "Me too, but I can't help it." He replied. Truthfully he could have gotten to sleep if he wanted to, but it was simply a matter of thoughts in his mind that wouldn't stop.

"Me too, but I can't help it."
Delilah frowned deeply. "I know." she said softly, averting her gaze to stare off into the forest. Everything had seemed to happen so quickly. She'd only gone out with the intention of gathering her thoughts, but ended up watching a potential relationship end and in a way 'winning' the boy in question. She didn't really like that idea, though, winning. But then she reminded herself that the whole thing was strictly Remus and Ripley and their decisions and feelings. Berating herself for letting her mind drift back to that, she let out a small sigh. "Well then," she said with finality, standing up and turning to face him. She held out both of her hands towards him, a small smile on her face. Maybe now he might get some rest that things with Ripley had been resolved. "Better get you back to bed, Mummy Sirius might just have to ground me if I don't get you home before curfew." she said, her smile brightening a bit. Even though they both knew it was way after hours, hey could probably sneak in undetected. And if they got caught, their punishment might be slightly lighter than maybe Sirius or James.

Dell was one of those people who worried over there friends, it was nice and he appreciatted it because she knew that he wasn't out to just get attention or something. He even let her accompany them on those nights when he didn't other people. Luckily she hadn't been there when Ripley had snuck over, that would have been another confronation he didn't want to hand because he'd told her she couldn't before. Then she stood up in front of him, smiling, one he could still see in the darkness.
Remus rolled his eyes. "Alright. We wouldn't want you to get in trouble." He said with an almost playful grin, standing and grabbing ahold of both of her hands.

"Alright. We wouldn't want you to get in trouble."
Delilah chuckled lightly and pulled him forward so that they were walking. Letting one of her hands drop from his, she held lightly onto the other one and swung their joined hands back and forth a bit as they walked. "I'll walk you to the door, but I expect a goodnight kiss, you know." she teased, giving a wink to show she was joking.
As they approached the enterance doors, Delilah stopped momentarily and turned back, facing the Whomping Willow's shadowy figure in the distance. She sighed lightly and tightened her grip on his hand a bit. Her eyes caught his for a moment, but she didn't say anything. The large, pale, white moon was nearly full, and she dreaded it probably almost as much as he did; simply because of how painful she knew the transformation was.
